“THE CARIBOO WAGON TRAIL- 2nd LEG TO THE GOLD!
Barkerville
This segment of the BC gold rush tour will be from Yale to Barkerville. We will drive up will be one of the wagon routes through Ashcroft, and the drive back will be another of the routes on Cariboo Hwy.
Planned Itinerary:
Day1 - We will all be meeting either in Hope or in Yale for a quick snack by the Yale Historical Society. Then we'll head off to Quesnel roughly a 5 hour total drive and will be staying at Billy Barker Inn/Casino for 2 nights. We will have a buffet at the Hotel on Friday night which is included in your registration. 2 morning breakfasts at the Billy Barker are also included.
Day 2 - We will drive from Quesnel to a historic Barkerville a 1 1/2 hour drive and do a historical tour of the town, where we will have a self pay lunch. After our return to the hotel we will take a short 2 block walk to dinner at Craig's Table a neighbouring restaurant, for a self pay meal.
Day 3 - We will do another drive on to Likely (another gold rush community nearby). After a short visit to Likely and a self pay lunch, we will drive back to Williams Lake and take the Cariboo Hwy for a 3 hour drive to Lillooet where the Fort Berens Winery will host us for a tastings/pairing experience.
The Tour will officially end at Fort Berens and you can return home via Hwy 1 the scenic Fraser Canyon or on Hwy 99 through Pemberton/Whistler.
This completes another segment of the historical journey of the BC Gold Rush Routes
