Mario Marrello, Autocross Chair – Porsche Club of America – Upper Canada Region (PCA-UCR)
Mario is a lifetime car enthusiast who joined the Upper Canada Region of the Porsche club in 2000 after purchasing a 944S2 Cabriolet and immediately jumped into Autocross, eventually taking over the chairperson duties in 2003. Since then, Mario has been active in the club, becoming President of UCR in 2011 and 2012, all the while keeping the autocross event active. As venues became harder to find, Mario worked with the BMW Trillium Club to combine the 2 club autocross events into 1, allowing for a greater turnout and avoiding competing for the limited venues the two clubs have available. When not driving, Mario manages a team of software solution architects for Shaw and Freedom.
Ashley Beattie, Auto Slalom Race Operations – BMW Car Club - Trillium
Ashley Beattie is a driving enthusiast who takes up any and all opportunities to (safely) go fast; be they in the simulator, on the GP track, in karts or on Auto-X asphalt. Racing in G-Street for the past 3 years (after a long hiatus), Ashley has his eyes on the top step this year after placing 2nd overall in 2022.
Ashley runs race operations for Trillium Auto Slalom events, creating and setting up track layouts to challenge racers' driving abilities. Off the track Ashley works in consulting and with the Royal Canadian Navy in Cyber Security.
