PCA-CWR Autocross

Parking lot fun with your Porsche at its city limits...

PCA-CWR Autocross

PCA-CWR Autocross events are timed competitions in which drivers navigate (one at a time) through a temporarily defined course, usually marked by traffic cones. Courses then are usually hosted in a large parking lots or other facilities which offer enough space to accommodate a reasonably sized race track which can host a timed event. Facilitated by enthusiastic volunteers, It's a grass roots type of racing which provides safe competition (against yourself), in a fun, highly social venue. Unlike other road racing events (except for rally), you race against yourself (and the dread clock).

Our Autocross events are typically place higher demand driver smoothness, skill,  and patience rather than flat-out speed. For the most part, while our Autocross race events are typically hosted at temporary facilities, on occasion  (and with a little good fortune), we're sometimes able to host events at more permanent racing facilities.

Autocross events typically accommodate various Porsche vehicle classes, from Boxster & Cayman, through Panamera, Macan and Cayenne, and everything in between. Because of the nature of Autocross temporary track configurations, speeds are typically slower when compared to high performance forms of racing, but make no mistake, it's absolutely no less exhilarating or challenging!

Our club hosts various events throughout the fair-weather driving season for our members.  Overall though, Autocross is a fun competitive event, ideal for participants at all skill levels. Autocross events are timed mainly for the purposes of tracking your progress throughout the day with the objective of helping you lower your lap times and learn new driving techniques. Our members help each other throughout the day, providing driving tips after your lap, coaching from the passenger seat, and working the course to learn the fast way around.

Maximum speed at these events is less than 80 KPH and our cars typically remain in 2nd gear for the duration of a lap. Participating and learning at this level helps build a solid foundation and transition to our High Performance Driver Education events.
