4 HISTORICAL ROUTES IN 4 HOURS NOT 4 DAYS
Hey you history buffs, let’s trade four-legged horses for our four wheeled Porsches and trek 4 more old local trails. These old routes were used for shipping supplies from about 1860 to 1880 in the opening up of BC and facilitating gold seekers heading to the interior. The drives have us shadowing these trails; - 1st Route - Semiahmoo Bay Trail 1874 - Ladner to Semiahmoo Nation - 2nd Route - Mud Bay Road/Telegraph Line 1865 we skirt the Semiahmoo Peninsula
- 3rd Route - Road to Elgin” (1882) Crescent Beach to Stewart House Surrey. Connect back to Mud Bay / Telegraph Trail (1865) carrying on around Mud (Boundary) Bay and north (shadowing near Scott Rd) to Brownsville.
- 4th Route - Sleigh Rd / Telegraph trail (1865) to Ft Langley area, through Langley, the Mt Lehman area and Clayburn to end where it joins the Old Yale Trail (route of our 1st historic ride May 1st) We’ll start with coffee and a muffin (courtesy of No1 Collision) at Ladner Harbour, with stops at Semiahmoo Bay, Stewart House, and Brownsville. End in Abbotsford where people can choose to stay for a Brewery lunch (self pay) if you wish.
