Calling all drivers who want to experience their favourite Porsche on Vancouver Island's very twisty and less travelled paved roads with a small group. This special tour is extended to 3 nights in 2024 to allow an extra day to explore the less travelled scenic roads and towns of Vancouver Island. Highlights will include Johnston Straight, Telegraph Cove (home of the resident Orcas), historic highways and multiple ferry crossings. The scenery is spectacular and the weather has been really good on these tours. Phil, a very popular tour leader, has put together a route that will visit all the "must see" spots and "must drive" roads (bonus - these roads are largely empty off season).
Day 1 (Friday): Ferry Crossing and Sooke to Courtenay Island Drive (380 Kms, 5 hours seat time) Friday Morning BC Ferry Departure from Taswwassen (make reservations) with a rendezvous in Sidney to meet up with PCA Washington State and Vancouver Island members. The tour will pass through Sooke on our way to the newly paved curves to Port Refrew with lunch at a popular local Pub. Next, through the Old Growth Forests to the track at VIR: Vancouver Island Motorsport Circuit where we might just cage a Parade Lap just for Fun. The tour pack will then make its way along the Salish Sea shores to the Old House and Spa in Courtney where we will spend 2 nights. Day 2 (Saturday): (600 Kms, 6 hours drive time), or Optional Spa Day at resort Porsches will set off north for Port Alice and the very special destination of Telegraph Cove (home of the resident Orcas). The roads are spectacular and the group will take breaks and lunch enroute with stops including Fort McNeil. Optional: Drivers, Co-Drivers and Passengers may elect to stay in Courtney for a "Spa-Day" and meet up again when the Porsches return for dinner. Day 3 (Sunday): Gold River, Cathedral Forest and Ucluelet (475 kms, 6 hours Drive Time) Optional: Check out followed by a short round trip to Gold River. The group will stop for lunch in Coombs and visit the "must see" Cathedral Grove enroute to Long Beach. Arriving in Ucluelet the tour will check into the ultimate Vancouver Island destination resort at Black Rocks. Day 4 (Monday): Returning Home, make your own way at your own pace. Officially the tour will end in Ucluelet with some electing to travel home together and others extending their stay on the Island. Special Notes: Registration fee is by the car, you do not need to register a guest. Net proceeds from the registration fees will be donated to the Surrey Food Bank. Reservations & Rates: Make Your Reservations! Ferry Reservations are highly recommended so make them early, April is closing fast. All tour registrants must make their own reservations at the hotels... note we have negotiated group rates so mention you are taking part in the Porsche Club Tour event. This tour is limited to 15 Cars, we will maintain a waitlist in the event of cancellations. Waitlist and Cancellation Policy: Please take note of the Club's Cancellation policy and conditions. Weather: Historically the Club had really good luck with tours on the Island at this time of year, but rain is a possibility so pack accordingly Road Construction: Finally, the major road improvement projects are complete so we are expecting no delays and no unpleasant unpaved roads... but road conditions can change so we will monitor the BC Highways website for updates.
