SUNSHINE COAST SINGLE-DAY TOUR
FRIDAY, APRIL 19th
Our very popular Sunshine Coast Tour returns in 2024 for a spring drive.
Join us for a fabulous day tour of the Sunshine Coast from Port Mellon to Egmont. We will meet on the 7:30am ferry from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale. Meet on the ferry in the cafeteria to sign waivers.
After disembarking, we meet the local club members at the top of the bypass rest area (go straight through traffic lights at terminal) for a driver’s meeting.
Notes: This event is a rain or shine tour. There will be a coffee stop in Roberts Creek, Highway 101 and backroads drive to Egmont, followed by a catered lunch at the Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens.
Ferry reservations are recommended.
Planned Route and Stops:
7:30 am - Depart on ferry to Langdale, waiver signing onboard.
8:30 am - Meet at the top of the Langdale Bypass Rest Area for a Drivers Meeting (straight thru traffic lights outside terminal and up to top of hill, turn left, park on the right at the rest area). Route details, safety, and tour logistics will be covered.
9:00 am - Depart top of Bypass and proceed down North Rd to Langdale, out and back to Port Mellon. Tour lower Gibsons and proceed to Roberts Creek.
9:45 am - Arrive Gumboot Café in Roberts Creek, coffee break
10:15 am - Depart Gumboot Café, Drive Highway 101 north to Egmont
11:30 am - Arrive Egmont Heritage Center for bathroom break and photo op.
12:00 pm – Drive Highway 101 South including Pender Lakes Loop
1:00 pm - Arrive Sunshine Coast Botanical Gardens for a catered Buffet Lunch. Click here to view the menu Buffet Lunch Menu
2:30 pm – Tech Talk presentation, TBD
3:00 pm – End of tour. Make your way to the 5:25 pm ferry or stay for a longer visit.
The tour will be led by a group of our CWR's members who live on the Sunshine Coast. Expect an interesting tour as they know every road!
